An off-beat black comedy focussing on two dysfunctional sisters, IZZY and JUNE, and their road trip around the UK following the man that Izzy is in love with, only he doesn’t know anything about it. Thelma & Louise meets The Big Lebowski. You can’t pick your family but you can pick your obsession. The feature is based on the award winning 2009 short of the same title.
MEET THE TEAM
Dan graduated from London College of Printing in 2005 and went on to work as Nic Roegs personal assistant on Puffball. He then went on to work as personal assistant and AD of Spanish film maker Alex de la Iglesia (Day of the Beast, Oxford Murders, Sad Clowns which won the Silver Lion at the Venice film festival). While working for De La Iglesia Daniel directed Last Night a short film which was in international competition at Zinebi film festival in 2007. After working for De La Iglesia Daniel went on to work as Armando Iannucci’s assistant on In The Loop and The Thick Of It. In 2009 he was short listed for Virgin Media Shorts for his short film Stalking Ben Chadz which he co-wrote and directed. His most recent work is the acclaimed short Mourning Rules which was shortlisted in the Reed Short Film Awards.
MONTSERRAT LOMBARD – Writer/Actress
Montserrat has three films to be released this year, 8 Minutes Idle opposite Tom Hughes, Outside Bet with Bob Hoskins and Tower Block also starring Sheridan Smith, Jack O’Connell and Russell Tovey.
She is best known for her roles as WPC Shaz Granger in BBC’s Ashes to Ashes and Milly Russell in Lovesoup. She has worked on various cult comedies including Saxondale, Nathan Barley and Hyperdrive. She loves playing off beat characters like Zoe the Emo in St Trinians 2:The Legend of Fritton’s Gold.
Montserrat started writing a couple of years ago. She has just finished the latest draft of feature film Slow Like Honey as well as developing a television series and recently directed a music video for band Barbarossa and is currently editing her latest short film WHITE starring Sean Harris (Prometheus).
